How do I create a Contract?

Q: How do I create a Scheduling Contract in BlueSky?
A: Scheduling > Contracts and Scheduling > Travel Needs

Create a long-term Per Diem contract IF YOU ALREADY KNOW WHICH CAREGIVER IS WORKING THE NEED:
1. Click Scheduling > Contracts.
2. Filter to the correct region and click New in the bottom left corner.
3. Enter the details about this contract (caregiver, facility, unit, start/end dates, etc.).

4. Click Save and Proceed or Save.

Create a contract from a Travel Need:
1. Click Scheduling > Travel Needs.
2. Filter to the correct region and click New Need in the bottom left corner.
3. Enter the details about this need. Unlike Shifts and Contracts, you cannot select a caregiver beforehand. Once you click Save, your system will search for available caregivers. To see these caregivers, click on Candidates/Assigned.

4. You can assign or submit a caregiver by clicking on Candidates/Assigned.

Enter an existing contract (your caregiver has already been working at a facility):
1. Click Scheduling > Margin Calculator.
2. Filter to the correct region and click New MC in the bottom left corner. You can create a completely new MC, or use an existing template.
3. Select the caregiver, facility, and unit. Enter any rate details and/or other payments. You can also include taxes in the MC, if you choose.

4. Click Save and Proceed or Save.
5. The screen will re-load. Click the "Link MC to Contract" icon, and a contract will be created from the MC. When processing payroll, you will need to pull shifts from this contract.
